Goshen Korean - Review - Fitzroy

Goshen Korean Restaurant on Smith Street is one of many Korean restaurants that seem to be springing up all over Melbourne.  Korean places seem to be everywhere these days.

Korean Hotpot

The Korean Hot pot is designed to be shared (so be prepared).  As you can see, it certainly looks a treat and looks very impressive on the table.  Most importantly, the looks are backed up by the food itself and it tasted great.
Feeling hungry
This shared platter is also great to try out a few different things, especially if you don't have Korean very often.  You you have both the hot pot and this shared platter you will be leaving very full and satisfied.
Korean pancake
This Korean pancake is yet another item to share.  This was surprisingly good although it is still a pancake.  I like them but obviously you have to be in the right mood.
Being a restaurant on Smith Street is certainly very common these days.  Its arguable better than Brunswick street for eating out.  In my book its better but Brunswick Street also has its own charms.
The question has to be said though, that with all these Korean restaurants, how does Goshen Korean Restaurant really stand up.  Well to be honest its not special.  It's nice enough if you are already on Smith Street but personally I would not search it out.

One great thing about Goshen Korean Restaurant though is that it is MSG free. This certainly counts for something and given that lots of Asian food has msg its good to know they are cooking the hard way.

MSG free
As you can see, Goshen is pretty unassuming but still manages to have a character of its own.
