The Boatbuilders Yard - Review - South Wharf

The Boatbuilders Yard restaurant review, South Wharf, Melbourne
The Boatbuilders Yard on Southbank (23 S Wharf Promenade, South Wharf VIC 3006) is a popular pub styled venue.

It's modern but still manages to have a bit of panache for a pub.  It serves your typical pub grub and is a perfect place to hang out if Melbourne weather permits.

panorama

Being right on Southbank you get great views across the river as the sun dies out and evening arrives.  On the balmy hot nights that infrequently occur in Melbourne this is a top spot.

The Boatbuilders Yard is a place to hang out and chill.  Pub grub are the key words so don't come here for fine dining.  This is a place to relax, have a yarn and leave your troubles for another day.

There is plenty of choice on Southbank and The Boatbuilders Yard manages to hold its own.  Really though it's a judgement call on whether The Boatbuilders Yard is really better than anywhere else.  Definitely no worse but I reckon it's a case of whether your crew of friends like the look of the place or want to keep looking.

The Boatbuilders Yard does its job well.  If you are just cruising along Southwharf and feel like a drink or a nibble The Boatbuilders Yard is a worthy stop.  Unpretentious but with a bit of modern cool. I like it.
