Grigons And Orr - Cafe Review - North Melbourne

Grigons And Orr (445 Queensberry St, North Melbourne VIC 3051) is an attractive and characterful cafe in North Melbourne.  I love the use of blackboards and it melds perfectly with its old school exterior.  It's a popular place and always seems to be filled with people as you pass by.

I love a cafe that has some of its own character and I like that Grigons And Orr manages to stand out from the crowd without being pretentious and also meld seamlessly with its surroundings.

Grigons And Orr also manages to have some of its old school charm on the inside as well.

I love a nice brunch in the weekend like the next person and Grigons And Orr is nice enough but somewhere the spark is missing.  It's all fresh enough and all the expected ingredients are on the plate but it all comes across as somewhat utilitarian.  It just doesn't say eat me.

A bit utilitarian

If I lived around North Melbourne I'd be happy enough coming to Grigons And Orr on a semi-regular basis but as far as truly standing out from the crowd they miss the mark.  Nice enough without being exceptional.
