Oree - Review - Queen St, Melbourne CBD

Oree is yet another one of the Korean restaurants in the Melbourne CBD, Queen St in this case.  While there is certainly a commonality too lots of them, some do stand out.

Kimchi
At Oree you get the usual assortment of Korean sidedishes.  Nothing spectacular but still nice to have. If they didn't have them, then that would be an issue.

I have to admit,  the food in general seems to be on the bland side. Where is the flavour?

Oree itself is a reasonably attractive styled restaurant but may be slightly too large.  It's size would be great if it was pumping but when their do not seem to be that many customers it inevitably creates a lack of atmosphere.  Hopefully they are busier at other times.  Oree is on Queen St afterall.

rolls
Korean spring rolls
Korean deep-fried spring rolls?  Doesn't seem too Korean but then again the Korean fried chicken is kind of everywhere these days and I certainly don't complain about that. Anyway, they fill a gap but they are not something I am going to particularly remember.

soup

I am a bit scant for words but Oree is overall an okay restaurant and needs to spice up the menu a bit.

It's hard to make a special recommendation for Oree unless you happen to work nearby or are just passing by.  Their are simply better Korean places around Melbourne.

Picked daikon

In a nutshell
Worth a visit to try it out. Not one of the best Korean around but not bad either.

  3. Best wishes on the changes you have made to your restaurant. The restaurant industry is tough, I recognise this. All the best and I look forward writing a review the next time we dine at Oree. Regards, Howie.
