Ombra - Restaurant Review - Cuba Street

Ombra is a great restaurant/cafe/bar on Cuba Street in Wellington, New Zealand.  It is swathed in great natural light and with its historic high ceiling and traditional wooden framed windows it is quite a delight to be inside enjoying this environment.  Beautiful!

Ombra is also quite original in that although it is Italian you can find some original, traditional and exciting dishes you are unlikely to find in most of New Zealand.  I do not jest.

Most importantly, while they are original they also taste very very good.

There is a wide selection of food and they are designed to be smaller but plentiful.  This works perfectly as you can try something new as well as sticking to things more traditional if you don't feel adventurous.

You really owe it to yourself to try something new if you go to Ombra.  Do yourself and your tastebuds a favour and experiment.

I was lucky enough to be at Ombra on a nice sunny day.  They can open up the windows when the weather obliges and you can really enjoy the relaxing environment and almost dream you are in Italy.  I can dream!

Anyway, I can wholeheartedly recommend Ombra to the more adventurous foody.  Don't be tempted to walk past as I have many times.  Venture in and taste something new.
