Sazio (41B Bluff Rd, Black Rock VIC 3193) is an Italian restaurant in Black Rock. It seems kind of adored by locals but is it worth your time to go a bit further afield if you are not a local?
The salt and pepper calamari is okay but does not elevate to a higher level. There is nothing special here. It's not bad but not memorable either.
Sazio is definitely Italian themed but it's pretty competitive in this space. If you are a good home cook you can relatively easily make quite exceptional Italian, especially if you fork out for great ingredients.
To be honest the seafood linguini was average. Nice enough but not leaving you craving for more.
Well, a chicken parmigiana is a chicken parmigiana, right? Well that is true but some are better than others. Unfortunately I can only categorise this as passable. I am sure I could have got better at a good quality pub so I am a bit disappointed.
Can I say writing this blog is hard work? Unfortunately, Sazio just was not an inspiring dining experience. I must be a bit fussy though, as the locals seem to like it so they must be doing something right.
