Petra Tou Romiou - Review - 495 Lygon Street, Brunswick East VIC 3057

Petra Tou Romiou (495 Lygon Street, Brunswick East VIC 3057) is a traditional and almost old-fashioned restaurant.  It comes across as a very family run operation which is kind of nice sentimentally speaking but does Petra Tou Romiou deliver in the taste stakes.

Well, I like family run businesses and like them so succeed but I do have a feeling that Petra Tou Romiou may struggle in todays fierce environment (of restaurants being everywhere).

Petra Tou Romiou's traditional Greek bread with three dips is okay.  Both taste wise and presentationally this is strictly okay dish.  It does not look special on the plate and it is quite hard to get excited about it.

In general terms Petra Tou Romiou is just very unexciting.  The food quality is also average.  It seems I am not the only one who thinks this way sadly.  Hopefully with the appropriate feedback and motivation by the owners they will improve.

The mixed grill is just that and while fine in and of itself, Petra Tou Romiou have to think about contemporary presentation of their food.  In this day and age of My Kitchen Rules and Master Chief they are being left behind.
