Dumpling Sisters - Review - Exhibition Street, CBD

Dumpling Sisters (229 Exhibition St, Melbourne VIC 3000) is your classic Chinatown cafe/restaurant.  The food meets a strict budgetary price point and the decor is super plain.  It is in other words your classic budget work lunch establishment.

I have been here a number of times now so that is a real testament to its quality or more to the point its a good place for work lunch that doesn't let you down.

Dumpling Sisters has quite an extensive menu that is above the quality and choice you'd get in a typical food court or mall.  Maybe that is not saying anything meaningful but it sure beats a standard sweet and sour pork or beef and vegetables in black bean sauce.

I also like that Dumpling Sisters has an array of entrees that covers the typical to the slightly unusual.  Its nice to try something that you don't get everywhere and I'm sure you'll find something worth tasting if you come here one lunchtime.

Singapore fried noodles

So the Dumpling Sisters is worth going to for a budget lunch, pre-movie dinner or after a night out drinking in the city.  Its nothing fancy but it delivers in a good old fashioned way.
