Dex2rose - Review - Little Bourke St (Elizabeth St zone)

Dex2rose (377-379 Little Bourke St, Melbourne VIC 3000) is a nitrogen gelato bar who also sell cold brew coffee.  It's trying to be a trendy little place but somehow the layout just isn't that appealing on the eyes.

bar
Plenty of flavours to choose from
I personally wonder how long the nitrogen gelato ice-cream craze is going to last.  As far as taste goes it doesn't seem to make any difference or maybe my tatse buds are shot. Lol.

machine

As for the cold brew coffee, it is nice enough but not that special.

coffee

I like the presentation of the cold brew coffee and I guess it is different from a standard expresso, latte or flat white.  Maybe, I'm just set in my ways but I'll generally take a latte over a cold brew coffee.

coffee

However, it does make for something different and on a superhot Melbourne day a gelato with the cold brew coffee is not a bad combination.

Anyway, if you are passing the vicinity it might be worth your while giving them a go.

customer

At worst at least you'll be able to cool down and have some respite from the heat.

  1. Is there a better nitrogen gelato ice-cream joint you'd recommend?

  2. Unfortunately I am no expert. Messina on Smith Street (237 Smith St, Fitzroy VIC 3065) is a great gelato place. A favourite ice cream place of mine is The Ice Cream Shoppe in Williamstown, however, its not nitrogen gelato. You could try Nitro Lab at 188 Bourke Street, CBD, Melbourne. At least this place is central. Howie Be.
