Red Pepper - Review - Melbourne CBD

Red Pepper (14 Bourke St, Melbourne VIC 3000) is an unassuming Indian restaurant at the top end of Bourke St.  It has a nice modern clean appearance and no hints pretentiousness.    It is also kind of run of the mill.  Its really a lunchtime restaurant for worker bees and may be a nice cheap eat at night when you don't want to break the bank.

Chicken Saag
Chicken Saag (Chicken prepared with spinach)
It has your standard selection of Indian favourites so you're bound to find something you'll like.   The food hits the spot but not in any exceptional or memorable way.  You will be satisfied never the less.

Its always hard to forego the butter chicken.  It's hardly going to keep your gp happy and will certainly give your heart a work over but you will leave a happy customer and that's what counts afterall.
As you can see its a pleasant enough looking place, easy on the eye and clean looking.  It is on Bourke St after all rather than Little Bourke so if appearance counts this will make a nice change from what's round Chinatown.

As you can see the food is nicely presented and the naan bread toasted to perfection.  You could never call the servings here overly generous but I like the portion sizes as they are.
