First Taste Cafe - Review - 104 Hopkins St Footscray, VIC 3011

First Taste Cafe in Footscray is one of my favourites.  I like First Taste for its authenticity to the food.

Chinese soup
I can order the Chinese soup here and it reminds me of my mum's cooking.  There are very few, if any other Chinese restaurants like that.  Of course soup is also perfect for these Winter months as well.

Noodles
As you can see the authenticity extends to the ceramic bowls as well.  Be prepared for a few chipped bowls so if that does not appeal (I can sympathise), then stay clear of First Taste Cafe.
Claypot
First Taste Cafe specialises in two things.. Chinese soup and claypot rice dishes.  I love the soup at First Taste and I have my favourite claypot dishes as well.
Claypot

The food is genuine, 'real' and quite tasty as well.  It doesn't have special surroundings but the food more than makes up for it.

Enjoy.
