Edo Washoku - Review - Great small Japanese eatery

Edo Washoku restaurant review, Chinatown, Melbourne by Howie's Melbourne Food Blog Edo Washoku is a Japanese themed cafe in Chinatown (18 Celestial Avenue, CBD, Melbourne, VIC 3000).  It is a bit off the beaten track so finding it may be part of the fun of the place.

Edo Washoku

Edo Washoku is pretty small and compact but I guess it does match Chinatown quite well in this way.  The food is standard fare and the Bento boxes are relatively generous.

Bento

Edo Washoku is really a place for lunch or a light snack.  I'd never go there for dinner.  It seems pretty quiet and its location certainly doesn't help.  It's nice having some Japanese rather than Chinese now and again.  Being in a bit of a loser location does help if you want to eat in a more quiet place.

So all up, Edo Washoku is a great place for a good quality Japanese lunch that won't break the bank and won't be too noisy.
