Urban Alley Brewery in Docklands (12 Star Circus, Docklands VIC 3008) is a western styled pub and brewery. As soon as someone mentions Docklands you can almost hear the groans. Yes, it certainly isn't the most desirable part of Melbourne to dine in.
As you can see, Urban Alley Brewery has a nice open, modern yet rustic feel. It's quite a pleasant environment in here and the tables aren't too close so you do feel relaxed.
The food is typical pub fare in a modern way and all well presented and looking enticing on the plate except for the hot wings that kind of just look odd although they tasted good albeit being quite small.
No complaints with the food. I was definitely happy. Honest, good quality pub food. You can't really go wrong.
And being an actual brewery you can even buy their local produce. With these brewery pubs I always find it a bit difficult to take the brwery side seriously. I always keep thinking the brewery bit is for show. Anyway, I'd suggest you order an Urban Alley beer and decide for yourself.
I wouldn't say the entrees are the biggest ever but they are about standard these days. Just something to keep in mind if you are starving.

Urban Alley Brewery really is quite a surprise in a good way. My expectations were suitably low (given the Docklands location) but Urban Alley Brewery really out did themselves. They even had quite a few customers on a Sunday evening in Docklands. That was a shock.

Okay, I'll say it. The hot wings don't do it for me visually. The chicken wings are covered in hot sauce so I understand the colour. It's just in no way enticing to look at. They tasted just fine though.
