Din Tai Fung is a bit cramped |
Din Tai Fung isn't overly generous in serving size. They are not small but they certainly aren't big either. Just keep this in mind if you expect large servings. A plus is that this will encourage you to try more dishes so its not all bad.
Din Tai Fung basically fills a gap, its not really exceptional in any way but if you want some Chinese and happen to be in The Emporium it might take your fancy. Personally, I think there are better Asian restaurants to be found in The Emporium. However, The Emporium can be a busy place and Din Tai Fung does offer some privacy (particularly at the back) and is relatively quiet as far as Chinese restaurants go.
As you can see, Din Tai Fung is quite traditional as far as Chinese goes and thankfully isn't too Westernised. This is a good thing.
So while I may not seem too excited by Din Tai Fung it's actually okay. While its not special it does have the one plus of being relatively private and to some people that might be enough.
In a Nutshell
Din Tai Fung is an okay restaurant but does have the advantage of being in The Emporium (if you are already there) and it's relatively private. The food is not special but not poor either and thankfully the customer is pretty good.
