The Plough Hotel - Restaurant Review - Excellent and popular

The Plough Hotel restaurant review, Footscray, Melbourne by Howie's Melbourne Food Blog The Plough Hotel (333 Barkly St, Footscray VIC 3011) is a fantastic contemporary and trendy pub/restaurant in Footscray.  Footscray really is becoming a hipsterish place these days although The Plough has been around well before the current gentrification started.

The Plough interior

The Plough Hotel has a nice open plan design and is very welcoming for such  a busy place.  It's definitely a Western place but it is historically a pub and hotel after all.  This place does get pumping so be forewarned and book ahead of time if you think you might go.

The Plough cheeseboard

As you can see The Plough Hotel does contemporary Western styled food and it does it very well. Presentation really is immaculate and we do like to feel special don't we?  Importantly looks are not deceiving and everything tastes as great as it looks.

The Plough salad

The portions are probably not what you would call sizeable so if you are really hungry or like large servings you are forewarned. It is what it is.  It's just part of the deal.  They are doing something right as they are so busy and in this day and age most of us are actually eating too much...me included.

The Plough pan

Simple and elegant food that is so on trend it's kind of uncool. And no I'm not complaining.
