Dong Que VN (102 Hopkins St, Footscray, VIC 3011) is yet another Vietnamese restaurant. There is a reason some restaurants are packed and others merely busy.
The main problem with Dong Que VN is that the pho (which is a staple of Vietnamese restaurants) is only average. Given that one of my favourite dishes is the beef special pho, this is a bit of a problem.
The other issue is a limited menu. This isn't a problem for the less adventurous as you should be covered. However, if you've been to a few Vietnamese restaurants you will definitely find the menu very restricting.
As you can see if you like your cold drinks and I don't mean alcoholic drinks then Dong Que VN should be able to provide you with something a bit different. I am a big fan of the avocado shake but there is plenty to try for the adventurous soul.
What I can say about Dong Que VN is that you will not go way starving. The portion sizes here are very generous.
I regard Dong Que VN as a bit of a utilitarian Vietnamese restaurant. If you want noodles or broken rice and the full menu of Vietnamese drinks, all with good but not exceptional flavours you will be satisfied. However, for the more adventurous you will be disappointed.

A great variety of Vietnamese drinks. Custard and jackfruit fruit, avacado shake.
