Lorne is one of my favourite places on the Great Ocean Road. It has enough shops to make it interesting for the casual visitor, it manages to have a bit of character and its still close to Melbourne. As one of my mid week posts it will be short as usual.
The River Tea House is enticing. It looks attractive as you walk past, has a nice outside dining area if it happens to be a nice sunny day and is distinctive. However, be warned, it doesn't seem to be used to catering for lots of people, so if its a public holiday or the middle of summer the proprietor and staff may be stressed and stuff things up.
They also happened to serve the food very slowly and the music was distinctly too loud. For a place emphasising tea and there is quite a selection for sale inside it does lack a bit of ambience. Anyway you can safely say its not near the top of my lists to visit again.
