The Union Hotel in Windsor (90 Chapel St, Windsor VIC 3181) is what you define as a classic modern day pub. Its got a spot on Chapel St with tables flowing to the street and side street for those super hot Melbourne days. Its also got those classic daily specials, think steak night, parmigiana night, etc.covering most of the week. If you like a bit of pool and watching a bit of cricket or AFL, the Union Hotel has you covered.
Not much can go wrong with a classic chicken parmigiana with fries and salad. Befitting a good pub everything here is spot on. On the parmigiana night it has every combination covered. So if you feel like giving your heart a work out I'd recommend.
A burger and fries probably comes behind the steak in the 'classic' stakes (pun intended) but is a necessity nevertheless. While it does look a bit sparse photographically in reality its a good burger. Not exceptional but good.
And for something resembling healthy why not try a Morrocan chicken salad. The serving is generous, it tasted great and your heart will feel better for it. This was a pleasant surprise.
