Yarra Valley Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery (35 Old Healsville Road, Yarra Glen) could certainly do with a more original name. Its literal and leaves little to the imagination which is kind of sad. For the chocoholics among us this is a must do should you be around Healesville. In fact most of us would be crazy not to go.
Given the current heatwave we are all experiencing I'm guessing that Yarra Valley Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery is doing a mega trade. I think this is a perfect pitstop if you do have children as the pricing is moderate. I'm sure that the kids will try and go ballistic. There is just so much chocolate.
As you can see there is plenty of choice for everyone. From the novel to the practical and all spaces in between and I don't mean your stomach.
The handmade (I hope) chocolates certainly look great although I do get the feeling that this place is still kind of mass producing.
Did I say choice! From the outside there seem only to be moderate numbers of cars but then once you get inside it seems to be teeming with people. You are definitely not going to be the only one here.
There are racks and racks of goodies and good variety too. Of course with the mercury soaring ice cream has got to be a goer. All said and done though I am not convinced they are the best ice creamery around. I was definitely more impressed by the chocolates.
As you can see its the kind of place where its going to be difficult not to purchase something.
As I said, this place is perfect for the family. Its also got a nice outdoor grass area for kicking the footy ball about. A bit of free entertainment for the kids and the young at heart.
As you can tell I got a bit carried away myself surrounded by all this chocolate goodness.
Anyway, I do suggest making a special trip here or as a side trip on the way back from Marysville.
